Fracturing Fluids Lab
A specialized facility dedicated to the analysis, formulation, and testing of fracturing fluids. We evaluate viscosity, proppant transport, and fluid loss under reservoir conditions to enhance fracture efficiency.
1. Synthesis & Processing
Polymer Synthesis Setup
Reaction setup to produce dry friction reducers or liquid inverse emulsion friction reducers.
Gel Processor (Meat Grinder)
Used to cut large polymer gels into smaller pieces for uniform drying and processing.
Fluid Bed Dryer
Simulates industrial drying by fluidizing materials for fast, uniform moisture removal.
2. Performance Evaluation
Rock Grinder
Used for rock grinding
Prepares rock samples for precise testing of reservoir characteristics.
Sonic Sifter
Primarily used for proppant sifting
Separates proppant powders by particle size using sound waves and air pulses.
SEC-MALS Analytical System
Determines molecular weight, size, and distribution of high-MW polymers.
Chandler 6700 Flow Loop
Measures the friction pressure of fluids at ambient temperature.
Chandler 5600 Shear Simulator
Evaluates the effect of shear history upon a fluid via precise software control.
Fann 35 Viscometer
Standard measurement of fluid viscosity at ambient temperature.
Grace M3600 Viscometer
Precision system for measuring fluid viscosity at ambient temperature.
Chandler 5550 HTHP
Viscosity measurement under high temperature and high pressure conditions.
Malvern Kinexus Rheometer
Flow analysis ranging from basic viscosity to complex viscoelasticity.
Grace M4085 Fluid Loss
Measures fluid loss properties under elevated HPHT conditions.
Grace M9106 Saturator
High-pressure saturation of core samples in brine at ambient temperature.
