CNPC USA Achieves Breakthrough with Successful HPHT Packer Deployment in Sichuan Basin

The **CNPC USA Completion Team** has successfully developed high-temperature, high-pressure (HTHP) production packers rated for **200°C/105 MPa (400°F/15ksi)**, meeting the rigorous **API-11D1 V0 "zero bubble"** standard. These tools were recently deployed in the Sichuan Basin with the strategic support of CNPC Southwest Oilfield and CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Corporation.
The 7-5/8-inch retrievable production packer underwent a comprehensive functional test, including setting, sealing, and cut-to-retrieve operations, in a key CNPC exploration well, achieving successful results. This validates the tool's performance under extreme downhole conditions where traditional equipment often fails.
Additionally, the 7-inch production packer was deployed in a deep production well at **4,400 meters**, where it demonstrated exceptional durability by withstanding multiple acidizing cycles and high-intensity well testing. This successful application marks a significant technological advancement for CNPC, effectively bridging a critical technology gap in completions for deep, hostile environments.
