CNPC USA Appoints Dr. Mark McClure to Technical Advisory Committee

Houston, TX, May 9, 2025 – CNPC USA has appointed Dr. Mark McClure, Founder and CEO of ResFrac Corporation, as an advisor to its Technical Advisory Committee.
In this strategic role, **Dr. McClure** will provide high-level guidance on research and development initiatives, contribute to the formulation of technical roadmaps, and support the commercialization of major scientific and technological projects. Advancing Fracturing & Reservoir Simulation
During a technical visit hosted by **Dr. Haige Wang**, Senior Vice President of CNPC USA, Dr. McClure showcased **ResFrac’s** industry-leading software platform. Currently utilized by over 35 global energy companies and 50 institutions, the platform is the preferred solution for simulations in unconventional oil and gas reservoirs and geothermal development.
The technical lecture addressed critical industry challenges, including:
- Modeling bedding plane fractures and proppant transport dynamics.
- Managing complex challenges in refracturing and infill well fracturing.
- Controlling fracture height growth and enhancing stimulation precision.
Collaboration and Digitalization
Technical teams engaged in deep-dive discussions exploring the integration of fiber-optic monitoring and downhole imaging with ResFrac simulations. These integrations are aimed at increasing fracturing precision across unconventional, conventional, and deep geothermal reservoirs.
