Drilling Fluid Rheology & Viscosity Testing
Ambient, elevated-temperature and ultra-HPHT flow-property evaluation.
What we can evaluate
- • Drilling mud viscosity and rheology
- • Plastic viscosity, apparent viscosity and yield-point related data
- • Gel strength and time-dependent fluid behavior
- • Rheological response to pressure and temperature
- • Water-based, oil-based and synthetic-based mud comparison
- • Custom shear-rate and temperature programs
Equipment and limits
Grace M7500 Ultra HPHT Rheometer: equipment rating up to 30,000 psi and 600°F (315°C). OFITE Model 900 Viscometer: 12 fixed speeds plus variable operation from approximately 0.006 to 1,000 rpm, with a maximum recommended heated-cup temperature of 190°F (88°C). Brookfield Viscometer: broad-range rotational viscosity testing; usable range depends on spindle, speed, sample volume and temperature.
